Beretta Nano 9 - The Beretta BU 9 Nano is a semi-automatic, percussion, subcompact pistol manufactured in the United States by Beretta at its Gallatin, Tennessee plant. Until 2016, it was manufactured at Beretta's headquarters in Ackock, Maryland. The Nano was introduced in October 2011 and is chambered in 9mm Luger. Although an A .40 S&W version of the pistol was in development, it was never produced.
It was discontinued in 2019, when Beretta Cosmetics introduced the revamped Nano APX Carry.

The Beretta Nano is a compact pistol for concealed carry. It features a fiberglass-reinforced "Technology" frame and Pronox-ready slides. Pronox is a type of ferrite nitrocarburizing, similar to Tifer (eg, Glock pistols) and Melonite (eg, Springfield Armory XD and Smith & Wesson M&P pistols). To cock the Beretta Nano, you have to press the trigger to unload the striker. A small dot on the receiver is pressed with a dot to unlock the striker. Make sure the camera is not loaded! Turn the key on the right side of the receiver to disassemble the pistol. The head of the key resembles the head of a nose. This system is used instead of a release lever for a compact design.
An indisputable feature is the absence of a sliding lock. On the last shot the slide lock opens normally to remove the magazine and pull the slide back to release the slide. Beretta did this to make the pistol as compact as possible.

Some manufacturers offer slide lock guards to avoid slide lock finger contact issues. Nano solved the problem. This is not a pistol with an extended slide lock and trigger. As for control, the rate of fire depends on how quickly you can achieve sight speed after recovery. Pressing the trigger quickly does nothing.

For nano, a controlled load with clean powder is best. I fired the pistol with +P loads. The recoil isn't bad, but I prefer a more manageable load.
