Most people don't realize that there is a huge difference between a 2011 and a 1911, and we've written a short article about it. You can look it up if you want, 2011 is a little different than 1911. This is usually related to the frame and sometimes the caliber.
The only difference is not the caliber, but many bars in 2011 are 9 mm, but 45. Well, let's get to the staccato P, because that's what you came here for.
Let's talk about the features of Staccato P. Definitely want a gun with features at this price point.
A pistol can be a lot of things, but for over $2,000, you're expecting very basic, yet advanced, polished features at the same time. This gun certainly has some premium features, so let's take a look at them.

The second part of the frame allows you to replace the 2011 polymer, aluminum, titanium and even tungsten frames.
This makes it very lightweight and modular. The gun has an all metal upper construction and a polymer grip, making it very interesting to hold.
If you press and hold, it looks like the Glock is holding the frame, but it's more polished.
The texture on the handle is really interesting as the star logo itself is lit up and reproduced.

It offers a great feel to the touch, but it's not as abrasive as some grips, but at the same time, it does the job and does it well when you're shooting.
Overall, I have no issues with the handle. Now in 2011 there is no way to replace the plate like on a 1911 because it would have to be completely removed from the frame.
So if you want to switch it up, you'll obviously get a completely different result. The handle is actually molded into the trigger guard and you have to replace the whole part.
Now that can be done, but you're obviously limited to what Staccato has to offer, so you'll have to take that out of the equation yourself.
Staccato Cs Review: Best Compact 2011 For Carry?
The grip panel still has your usual screws, but there's only one of them here. When it comes to 1911s, it's at the top.
This means a Red Dot Optic model, but still has a natural looking, fiber optic front sight.
I really like the look of this fiber optic. Although my green and yellow are sometimes a little harsh, I believe it is green.
In general, for shooting, I really like fiber optics, and I'm not a fiber optic person.

However, it works well on this gun. The rear sight is just your typical U and the edges are very sharp, but also not pointy, which I really like.
I love running these types of iron sights, they remind me of the Trijicon sights on my Glock 19, so I really like this one.
Granted, I don't have a fiber optic sight on my Glock 19, but I don't know why that would really work for this gun. I don't like fiber optic cables on almost any gun, so I'm surprised I like them on the Staccato P.
I don't know if it's a 1911 or a 2011 model gun, but I like it. That's all I can tell you.

In general, the places are really nice. You can change them, but I personally don't. The only reason to change it on this RDO model is to add a red dot.
I plan to add a Trijicon RMR to the Staccato P RDO. Once it arrives, I'll take the gun and the report bag.
So let's talk about control. The controls are your standard 1911 style controls. It's a single-action gun, which means you have to hammer it. Let's start from the back and work our way forward.
There is a palm guard on the back of the handle. With this, you will not be able to pull the trigger until you install the master grip and activate the palm safety. This palm guard has a polymer grip and is not a metal pressure plate.

It's comfortable to hold, and if you've set up your master grip correctly, you shouldn't have any problems with it.
When it comes to guns, your safety is on you. The safety is what you would expect from a 1911 style safety.
Very easy to pull down. It's very easy to join with your thumb. It's a simple push. This is a simple pull down.
It's ambiguous, so it goes both ways. Overall good protection. Not a fan of pistol safeties, but I think a 1911 will have a pistol, which is a good thing.

I really like it. No problem with that, especially in a 1911. The lines are disconnected. Very clear. It looks great and it works great.
You can hold/release the slide whatever you want to call it. It's just to the left of the gun.
I found it too far for my right thumb. I'm a right-handed shooter, so it's hard to get them when they're ahead.
So, if I'm going to pull down to release the slide in the normal grip of the gun, I'll pull down with my left thumb.

That being said, I think it's important to say it's very simple. It is much smoother than the stock Glock slide version.
It works smoothly. It has a small ridge that allows the slide to be pulled down and forward.
Overall, it's great. It sits a little on the frame, which is an interesting design, but it's not a negative. This is just an observation.
Last but not least is journal version control. If there is a short in one of the controls, it will release the mag.

Again, this is only a quarter of an inch past the trigger well where the magazine is released.
It works well, but it's rough. It's hard to press, but once you do, get your magazine out and you'll be fine.
Overall, this is a very minor complaint. It's not a deal breaker. I'd just like to see something a little bigger and easier to push.
It's hardly worth mentioning, but to be fair, consistent, and thorough, it needs to be mentioned.

As with most 1911s, it takes very little to draw. You hit the wall, pull it, just a very short wall, then you get a nice little break, and then release.
The reset requires you to come all the way out on the trigger, so the release is all the way back, and then it's a little mushy when you come back in. The trigger is not very pleasant, but it works. This is reasonable, I will write about it later.
The 2011 is a hammer-fire model, just like the 1911-style pistol. This is a single-action pistol, so you have to flip the hammer to fire the gun.
The hammer is very smooth and lightweight. If for some reason you need to hit the hammer by hand, there will be no problem in doing so.
